  • 4001 A.D. #4 (of 4)
  • Afterlife With Archie #10
  • Deadpool vs. Gambit #4 (of 5)
  • East of West #29
  • Future Quest #4
  • Hyperion #6
  • Lazarus #24
  • Saga #37
  • X-Men ’92 #6

Sort of a big week for me.

4001 A.D. drops it’s final issue this month and it’ll be interesting to see how Kindt and Crain wrap this book up. The end of #3 was very quick, so I’m assuming we’re going to see the fallout of the major ending. I’m especially curious to see how this affects the future Rai issues.

Future Quest continues to be TechniColor and magical. This book is full of wonder and amazement for old-style story-telling of very clear cut, good-guy/bad-guy world building. I know very little about Johnny Quest and Space Ghost and the gang, but so far, I’m enjoying this book.

Lazarus…. oh boy. Having just re-read #1-23, I am so insanely excited for the next chapter in this book.

Afterlife with Archie is the slowest producing book I’m reading, I think. Despite that, the twists and turns have been great and I really dig everything Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is doing with this book. This month’s issue with Josie and the Pussycats looks to be a fun one (on top of the RIP Betty storyline).

  • Afterlife With Archie #10
  • Art Ops #11
  • Future Quest #4
  • Predator vs Judge Dredd vs Aliens #2

Afterlife With Archie returns this week with the series debut of Josie and the Pussycats. The unpredictable schedule of this series may be frustrating, but having my favorite Riverdale residents show up has me very excited for the future of this book.

I was pleasantly surprised by the first issue of Predator vs Judge Dredd vs Aliens, especially the way the book embraced the sometimes silly satire of Dredd. These types of franchise mash-ups are usually pretty hit or miss, but this one hit the sweet spot between clever and goofy.
